Washington County's Public Safety Answering Point
Washington County Emergency Communications District has supplied 9-1-1 and public safety dispatch services to the residents of Washington County — including the incorporated areas of Johnson City and Jonesborough — since November 1988. Washington County is located in Northeast Tennessee, approximately 30 miles from Virginia and North Carolina.
As a consolidated PSAP and Dispatch Center, we answer all 9-1-1 calls in Washington County, Johnson City, and the Town of Jonesborough, and coordinate response with multiple agencies throughout Washington County, Johnson City, and the Town of Jonesborough.

Address Requests & GIS Services
Washington County Emergency Communications District has been designated by Washington County to assign street addresses (also known as 9-1-1 addresses) for the unincorporated county. WCECD also assists the City of Johnson City and Town of Jonesborough with addressing and performs address verification for agencies, businesses, and individuals.

Special Needs
Special Needs Entry Request is a program for individuals with special needs in Washington County, the City of Johnson City or Town of Jonesborough, TN. This program allows the Washington County 9-1-1 call center to accept that information and share that information with emergency responders prior to their arrival at an emergency scene.
Request for Information
Public records (radio, telephone, and/or other data) may be released upon submission of the proper request form, a valid photo ID, and applicable fees. Exceptions are prescribed by law — WCECD will notify involved agencies to verify the information is releasable.
Requests are typically fulfilled within 7 business days and must be picked up during regular business hours. Please call (423) 979-1500 (Opt 4) for any questions.
